The desire to play music has always been a driving force in my life, even though I was not raised in an especially musical household or a fabulously culturally-rich community.
Beginning with piano lessons at six, there was guitar and trombone in grade school, double-bass and flute in high school and even a bit of mallets at San Francisco City College.
While attending San Francisco State, I studied with legendary Bay Area guitar guru Dave Creamer, who at the time was recording with Miles Davis. After two years I hit the road with a working band and was thrilled just to be making a living!
Since landing in Portland in the early 80's I have had the privilege of working with many of the best musicians in the Northwest (which usually means the best anywhere!) in a variety of genres, many of whom fill key positions for acts ranging from Quarterflash to Tom Grant to Gino Vanelli.
